Planning Meals is a Snap with GE’s Advantium® iPhone® App

 

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – November 15, 2011 – (NYSE:GE) – You might not think of an iPhone® as an indispensable item in the kitchen. Imagine, though, having recipes, shopping lists and instructions on using your GE Advantium® Speedcook oven on your mobile device, without having to consult a cookbook, computer or user's manual.

 

"At GE, we know that users want information at their fingertips, and in the kitchen that's best accomplished with a mobile device," said Irene Newsom, GE's program manager for the new application. "We've looked at all the valuable tools that members of our Advantium community have told us are important and put them in an easy-to-use interface so that our users can find out anything they need to know on their iPhone."

 

   

The GE Advantium mobile app gives GE Advantium oven owners a wealth of recipe information in one convenient location.

• GE and Advantium users have created hundreds of recipes — everything from appetizers to main courses — and posted them online. Home chefs are invited to add their own recipes, too.
• With the Advantium iPhone app*, your shopping list for ingredients is always with you.
• Once home, the app serves as a quick and easy way to find information, such as cooking times, conversion recommendations and preparation tips for your favorite foods and recipes.
• The app includes videos on creating your own recipes, using the Speedcook controls, and clean-up made easy.
• The app integrates with the timer on the iPhone, so you can simply set the timer on the app and forget it while you multi-task. "If you wanted to put a tenderloin in the oven and go out in the yard, the alarm on your iPhone will tell you when the food is ready," Newsom said.
